If you’re struggling with trusting your partner, you have a fear of conflict, differences in communication styles or something else this article is for you.

Over the last 15 years in business, I’ve discovered over and over that communication is the number one downfall in relationships.

Identifying what is happening for you as individuals and as a couple is crucial to begin improving the communication in your relationship.

Identify 5 principles to begin talking to your partner:

🌟 Identify your underlying barriers

🌟 How to Discover the secret garden of Eden

🌟 Essential Ingredients to Nourish your relationship

🌟 The eye-in-the-mirror technique

🌟 Soft and cuddly like a bear

  1. Identify your underlying barriers: Take some time to reflect on what specifically makes it difficult for you to talk to your partner. Is it a lack of trust, fear of conflict, differences in communication styles, or something else? Understanding the underlying reasons can help you address them more effectively.

  1. How to Discover the secret garden of Eden: Choose the right time and place and find a suitable environment where you can have a calm and uninterrupted conversation. Avoid discussing important matters when you’re both tired, stressed, or distracted.

  1. Essential Ingredients to Nourish Marriage: Communication is a two-way process. Practice active listening by giving your partner your full attention, maintaining eye contact, and showing genuine interest in what they are saying. Avoid interrupting, learn active listening and try to understand their perspective without jumping to conclusions.

  1. The Eye in the Mirror Technique: When expressing your thoughts and feelings, use “I” statements instead of “you” statements. For example, say, “I feel upset when this happens,” rather than, “You always make me upset.” This approach reduces defensiveness and promotes understanding.

  1. Soft and Cuddly like a Bear: Practice empathy and understanding: Try to put yourself in your partner’s shoes and understand their point of view. Validate their feelings and show empathy, even if you disagree. Creating a safe and non-judgmental space encourages open communication.

Remember, building effective communication takes time and effort from both partners. It’s important to be patient, understanding, and willing to work together to improve your communication skills.
